Maddy joined the team in May 2025 after graduating from Dalhousie Veterinary Technology program. She’s an owner of four cats and a border collie named Bella. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer with her team.

What’s your pets name and why did you choose it?
I choose the name Sage for my cat so it so could match with her big brother Forrest name, plus sage green is my favourite colour.

What’s your favourite animal and why?
Dogs are my favourite animal because they’re super loyal and always happy to see you! Plus, they’re so many amazing breeds, so there’s a perfect pup for everyone.

What's the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Getting to see the impact my team and I have on all the amazing people and animals that are at our clinic. Whether that be as simple as performing nail trims or as big as chemotherapy treatments, being part of each and every animals journey is truly a reward.

What inspired you to work in this industry?
My passion for animals has been with me my whole life, I’ve known since I was in middle school that I’ve wanted to be a RVT and now I’m working my dream career.

What advice would you give to pet owners to ensure their pets lead healthy lives?
Preventative health is so important! It can help detect early onset of diseases, provide protection against predisposed conditions and overall improve the quality of life of animals.
