I have had many pets in the past since i grew up on a farm but my favourite little buddy today is my cat Ross. I named him Ross after the Friends character and we had a Joey and Chandler too!
-
What inspired you to work in this industry?
I grew up on a farm down in the Annapolis valley and my whole life was centered around animals. I was also in 4-H where I showed livestock including sheep, cows, rabbits, and ducks. It was only fitting that I continue a career involving animals considering my love for them. I couldn’t imagine spending my time doing anything else but caring for pets of all sizes.

What’s your favourite part about working with animals?
A big part of a Veterinary Technicians job is to perform blood draws and place IV catheters. This is has become one of my favourite parts of working with animals. Sometimes it can be a challenge but that what makes it so satisfying and rewarding when you hit a vein that seems almost impossible. I of course love receiving lots of kisses and giving lots of pets too, who wouldn’t!
