About This Project

Victoria Burgess
Veterinary Assistant

Victoria’s love of animals began when she was a little girl. She simply finds joy being around them. At a young age she wanted to gain all the experience she could. She started volunteering at a horse barn, walking neighbours’ dogs and pet sitting cats and even some reptiles. As she began exploring her options for working with animals, she did a work-term at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital where she soon became a full time employee. As she gained more hands-on experience, she also opted to further her formal education and completed an on-line veterinary assistant course. She loved her work with all of the pets and the wildlife in need from Hope for Wildlife. Victoria has also worked occasionally at the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic where she gained experience in emergency care.

In 2012 Victoria, got married, moved to Bedford and joined the Vetcetera Pet Care Team. She has continued her education in animal care and can be found in the consultation rooms speaking to clients about everyday care. She has a special interest in laboratory work and anesthesia. She also has a strong partnership with clients who are working on weight loss with their pets. She truly does love her job and is always happy to be there for clients when they and their pets are in need. She strives to provide the best care to both patients and clients. She is always happy to see pets recovering from a serious illness or injury and loves cuddles with kittens and puppies too. When not at Vetcetera, she enjoys time with her husband, horseback riding, snowboarding, hiking and totally relaxing!! She has a rescue kitty named “Frank” and is keeping her eyes open for a canine friend.
